About Sunil Gangopadhyay
Sunil Gangopadhyay was a famous Bengali poet and novelist. Born in Faridpur, Gangopadhyay obtained his Master’s degree in Bengali from Calcutta University. He started Krittibas, a Bengali poetry magazine in 1953. He is credited for creating the Bengali fictional character Kakababu and wrote a series of novels on this character. He was honored with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1985 for his novel Those Days (Sei Samay).
