Presentation Skill is one of the most demanding skills everywhere-locally and globally in education and in profession. In 2015 I was invited to be part of designing and teaching a course called “Presentation Skill Development” as an academic subject at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) for their MBA Program as Professor Adjunct. Within a very short time, I could understand that there was no useful and standard book for our students or learners on Presentation Skills with special focus on our learners of Bangladesh. Often a learner gets confused about how to start and where to start to improve his/her presentation skills. Or is there any particular method for an individual to follow to improve his/her presentation skills?
In my opinion, presentation or public speaking skill is an art. At the same time I believe that it is a science too. There are some interesting tools for anyone to remember and practise to continuously improve the presentation or public speaking skill. I felt obligated and therefore decided that I must write a book on presentation skills in such a way so that any person (academicians, professionals or students) can use my resources to improve his/her presentation skills the way my direct learners are improving their skills of presentation and public speaking. This book is based on one simple science (an interesting formula to remember!) called OMG, derived from “O My God”! This science covers all essential activities of ‘arts’ of a great presentation including some other interesting tools as science.
There are two parts of this book-first, theory, and then action. This is an action-oriented book to improve your presentation skills. After every chapter I have prescribed some actions for readers to take from the learning points of each topic. They can interact with me live on SLSD Facebook page to practise what they learn from the book.
Happy reading, and all the best for you to be a great presenter and public speaker.
